Pakistani travellers have more options than ever. Here is how to choose between the three most common types of stay.
Furnished apartment
You get your own front door, a kitchen, living space and often a washing machine. Apartments are usually better value for stays of three nights or more, and they suit families, business travellers and anyone who likes cooking. There is no daily housekeeping unless arranged.
Guest house or cottage
A guest house is often a whole home or a private floor. It is ideal for groups, especially in hill stations, where parking, a lawn or a fireplace matter. Hosts are usually nearby for help.
Hotel
Hotels offer daily housekeeping, a reception desk and a restaurant. They are a good fit for one or two nights and for travellers who want everything handled.
